INTERVIEW: 5 questions to...KEVIN LYTTLE! (english version)

R.I.: Ladies and Gentleman today we feel very proud to introduce an International music star…mr. Kevin Lyttle! Welcome to Reggaeton Italia Kevin! Your music is full of melody, rhythm and good feelings: would you like to start talking about, with 3 words, your philosophy of music, and explaining us why do you choose that words?

K.L.: Heart, Rhythm, Life, "If it wasn't for music I would of died along time ago" this is a quote from the jingle played on a radio station in my country (St. Vincent) while I was growing up, that I have realized is so true. Even in the human heart beat there's rhythm and if that rhythm stops, well you know what!! Lol.

R.I.: I can not say how many times I have danced your worldwide success “Turn Me On”, which is the song that made you famous around the world. After more than 10 years, what are your sensations when you sing it in your concerts? What was the first time you thought it could have become a worldwide success?

K.L.: I feel very greatful now every time I get the chance to perform it (Turn Me On) simply because its been over 10 years and people love it like its brand new. The first time I realized it was gonna be a world wide hit was when it topped charts in Holland and Canada with only my independant support.

R.I.: Your new song is “Amazing”, and seems to be the new soca hit of this year. I love the song,  in Italy is already top 10, and I like that it was made in
collaboration with many Caribbean stars like Yaga y Mackie and Mr Phillips, and with a great producer as Jorgie Milliano. Would you like to talk about this
song and how was born?

K.L.: Amazing is just that… lol Aaarrmazing!!! The record was demoed and presented to me in its original form by music producer & artiste Jolgiie Milliano, I heard the record and immediately I saw the vision & got to work. The collaborations  were suggested by Jolgiie to put a different spin on the record which has worked tremendously. Much thanks to Mr Phillips and Yaga Y Mackie who lent their voices in helping to make this record the smash that it is.

R.I.: Your country, Saint Vincent, is small but filled of great artists. For
example, I like the music of Skinny Fabulous. Are your proud of representing
your country as the biggest shining star of music? Can you talk us about the
magic of Sain Vincent and if it influences your music?

K.L.: St Vincent is and will always be that influence that makes my music special simply because the idea of making Soca music Mello, groovy and crossover originated in what we call Raggasoca, which is what I was doing with "turn me on" hence the line, (is ah big dancehall song ah na), but music is just one of many wonderful things about my country. There is so much beauty in the oldest botanical gardens in the Western Hemisphere, the beautiful beaches, rivers, nature trails and not to mention very friendly people. All in all it's an unspoiled paradise that's slowly being discovered. I was just honored as a cultural Ambassador to the country and will use that post to introduce that AMAZING country to the world….lol

R.I.: When will we watch the official video of “Amazing”? Are you planning of
recording an album? If yes, can you forward to us something? Would you like to send a shout to all your fans in Italy?

K.L.: The official video is gonna be shot this weekend from the 13th to the 15th October during Miami Carnival. As a matter of fact, plans are being set in motion as I'm replying to these questions. My label (Tarakon Records) is funding this project as part of promotions to lunch my up coming album next year, as for my fans new and old ones, I wanna say thanks and let them know how much I appreciate their support and love for my music throughout the years. I would not exist without their love. You guys are wonderful! Big Up Man! I appreciate you!

Many Thanks to a geat artist such as Kevin Lyttle, we will always be fanatics
of his music! R.I.
